Poem: You and I

Like good books don’t give up all their secrets at once,
You’re a good book,
Whom I’d like to pick up and devour.
I am a big book, black and white, picture-less and tainted.
But you read me all at once, in one night without taking a nap,
I’m always thankful.

Sunsets have a fleeting sense of goodbye,
when they go away, they leave us in darkness.
In the end we’re left with nothing but blackness.
You’re a sunset I don’t want to say goodbye to,
An Everlasting Sunset.
I am a river deep and calm in the night,
But beautiful and candy-coloured in the afterglow of sunset.

      1. I’ll be replying soon, but not today or tomorrow if that’s okay, it’s raining awards for me since the start of this month, and I love this community (that means you too dear) for that.. but there have been too many award posts in a row now.. so I am taking a little break 🙂
