Poem: I’m Back

The moon sits in the sky
It's smiling
Somewhere, a bird gives a cry
Sea's sighing
The sun blushes, it's shy
It's evening
I'm back, I wonder why
I kept leaving?
Was I afraid that if I die
It'd be of no meaning
So, I started living a lie
Believing
That when we say goodbye
The grieving
Lasts forever, but I
Was deceiving
Myself. Grief's like a butterfly
It's fleeting.

  2. Good rhyming indeed. Grief as a butterfly is an intriguing metaphor.
Many would say grief is like a boulder on the chest, suffocating…..and then, those who want to sympathize and “make things better” might say to the grieving, time will heal your grief.. In time, you will be able to move on. Maybe that’s the idea that grief is fleeting. I think though, that for some, it is forever a weight.
