Mother, heaven is in your loving lap! The Sun is in your eyes and its love-light-- A beacon— hope and peace —in my blurred map A place I find solace in when I’m tired.

Author’s Note
Today, I tried writing in iambic pentameter for the first time. In all sonnets I’ve written till now, the pentameter and the rhymes were all there but that Iambic part was hard for me. This quatrain was supposed to be a sonnet, but I didn’t have the time to complete it, so I am just sharing this here today.
For those who want to write a sonnet in iambic pentameter, I’ve found the best link (after browsing through like 30 websites!) which explains the process: https://nosweatshakespeare.com/sonnets/iambic-pentameter/

Prompt
At dverse today, Ingrid is hosting for the last time. She urges us all to write about a place/space which inspires us. She really loves sonnets, so I thought why not write one for her beautiful prompt. I couldn’t complete it, sorry for that, maybe I’ll complete it later 🙂
If you wish to read some sonnets written by me, you may browse from the following: (or you may click here)
Your thoughts are very loving. And we’ll written. I have read sonnets but I have not really tried to understand the rhymes and pentameters. Thank you for the link.

Love this! The rhythm was delightful. The message soulful. And the song, is one that always makes me cry. (In a heartwarming way.)

Oh! I recited it to her as soon as I finished writing, she was very impressed she told me this poem can be read in many ways, then I thought about it and found the (now) obvious connection of Mother Nature!
Many thanks, dear David 💝🙏🙂

I really love the sentiment of the poem… and you should be warned, if you start to write pentameter it is hard to stop… I had to give it up since even my prose became iambic.

Whoa, I’ll keep this warning in mind.
Thank you, Björn 🙏❤️🙂
